How to create a custom domain to access the institution?

Modified on Mon, 19 Jun, 2017 at 5:13 PM

While creating a new school under company, there is a section where the user is asked to enter the preferred domain. Using this feature user can get a customized domain.

If you are hosted in your own server, you have to point your custom domain to the server's IP where Fedena is installed, otherwise if you are hosted in Foradian's server, you have to point that custom domain to ws1.fedena.com

The below GIF's shows the required steps. The example shows how the pointing of domain (apps.pandasandeep.com) is done to the server (54.191.154.85).

1. Log into your domain provider

2. Visit Section of Managing domains

3. Add an A-record by pointing your host to the server's IP address in case you are hosting the application in your own server.

4. If you are hosted in foradian server, you can add a CNAME record by pointing the subdomain (in this case 'apps' as shown in the GIF below) to ws1.fedena.com.

The below GIF's are only examples, and the interfaces may vary depending on your domain provider.

Note: Please note that the changes done as above might take a maximum of 72 hours to get reflected, i.e. the propagation will not immediately take affect.
